xAI releases grok-build-0.1 via API in public beta
xAI's agentic coding model grok-build-0.1 is now publicly available via API at $1/M input and $2/M output.
xAI has released grok-build-0.1 via its API in public beta, making the model that powers the Grok Build CLI available to developers. The model is priced at $1 per million input tokens and $2 per million output tokens, positioning it as a cost-competitive option in the agentic coding space.
The release extends to several third-party platforms including OpenRouter and Vercel AI Gateway, and the model is already integrated into coding tools such as Cursor, Hermes Agent, OpenClaw, Kilo Code, and OpenCode. Developers building autonomous coding workflows now have direct API access to the same model underlying xAI's own CLI tooling, giving teams flexibility to embed it into existing pipelines or evaluate it alongside other agentic coding models without committing to a proprietary interface.
