Anthropic opens a directory submission portal for Claude plugins

Anthropic launched a portal on Sept 25 letting paid-plan developers submit plugins to the Claude directory, track review and see usage analytics.

Anthropic has opened a directory submission portal that lets developers on paid Claude plans submit plugins to the Claude directory, follow them through review, and see usage analytics once they're live. Plugins package MCP connectors, Agent Skills, or both, and Anthropic calls them the main way to build third-party extensions for Claude. If you've already built a connector or skill, this is now a documented path from submission to install data.

There are two submission paths, per Unite.AI: a single MCP connector pointing at a remote MCP server, or a plugin bundle hosted on GitHub and submitted as a repository. Skills aren't a standalone submission type, so they go inside a bundle. MIXED Reality News reports that Free accounts can't submit, the repo must be public before the listing goes live, and the first organization to submit a given repository folder holds that listing. Pick the owning org deliberately, a point Omid Saffari's walkthrough stresses for agencies building for clients.

Every submission is validated and safety-scanned automatically, and Anthropic says a person reviews new bundle listings before they go live. After launch, analytics show installs by product surface and version, plus listing views and the searches that led to them. Anthropic says Claude supports MCP 2.0 with a stateless core, and it highlights the MCP Apps and Enterprise Managed Auth extensions.

Still unclear: review turnaround, the full human-review criteria, and what MCP 2.0 changes in practice for existing connectors. Anthropic says only that current skill, connector and plugin listings need no changes. A unified discovery experience across Claude and Claude Code is announced for the coming weeks, not shipped.
