Veeam ships file-level undo for AI agent changes in Microsoft 365

Veeam made Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365 generally available on Oct 15, adding agent discovery and file-by-file undo of agent changes.

On October 15, 2026, Veeam made Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365 generally available as an add-on to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365. Veeam says it finds Copilot and other AI agents in a tenant, shows which sensitive data each can reach, and, when an agent modifies or deletes the wrong files, lets admins see the changes file by file and undo them. If you're giving agents write access to SharePoint or OneDrive, that is a recovery step that goes beyond permissions alone.

StorageReview confirms the GA and the per-file undo. It ships in Foundation and Advanced editions and through Veeam Cloud & Service Providers. Veeam's partner guide says it is not a standalone product. The guide also pitches it as a reason to move customers from Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to the cloud service. Pricing isn't stated in the sources.

The limits matter. Frontier's analysis notes that undo depends on supported file changes and an available restore point. It also says Advanced, not Foundation, adds full sensitive-content scanning with OCR and Purview labeling. Restoring a file doesn't retract a summary already sent to the wrong person. Cohesity made the same point about its own agent rollback to Let's Data Science: "restoring the state does not erase an action's real-world consequences."

Veeam's partner guide claims no other vendor can undo AI-driven changes. Futurum lists Rubrik, Commvault, Druva and Cohesity pursuing agent protection. For Jira, Confluence and GitHub, Rewind describes item-level restores from a backup taken before the change. Veeam's Okta and Data Platform versions remain in private preview.
