xAI has released Grok Imagine Video 1.5, a new image-to-video model the company says delivers sharper realism, improved physics simulation, and faster generation times. The model is generally available through xAI's API. On the consumer side, xAI also rolled out Video 1.5 Fast, which renders 720p video in approximately 25 seconds — down from more than 40 seconds in the previous version.
For developers integrating video generation into products, the API availability means Imagine Video 1.5 can be put to work now without a waitlist. The roughly 40% reduction in render time is consequential for latency-sensitive applications such as real-time creative tools or interactive media workflows. xAI spotlighted a use case from filmmaker @heavypulp, who used the model to produce a cinematic trailer, suggesting the company is positioning Imagine Video 1.5 for professional creative workloads alongside general API use.
